Direct Line: Geronimo wins accountLONDON - Direct Line, the Royal Bank of Scotland-owned insurance brand, has appointed Geronimo to its �6.2m direct marketing account after a four-way pitch.
The general insurer appointed the agency following a competitive pitch handled by Creative Brief. Direct Line had shortlisted four agencies: Geronimo; Carlson Marketing; Archibald Ingall Stretton; Craik Jones Watson; and Mitchell Voelkel.
Geronimo had previously carried out some below-the-line work for Direct Line on a project basis. The agency has been briefed to handle all aspects of below-the-line marketing for Direct Line, including its online marketing, on a retained basis.
The appoint follows a number of changes to Direct Line's marketing arrangements since the appointment of marketing director Mike Tildesley a year ago.
The insurer shifted its �35m creative account from Clemmow Hornby Inge to M&C Saatchi at the end of 2005. The agency was then awarded Direct Line's �15m financial services account in March.
