10 January 2005,
First imarket insurer to connect with Software Houses
In a powerful demonstration of its commitment to E-trading, Groupama Insurances is the first insurer to successfully establish connectivity through the imarket industry standard portal with two of the industrys leading broker software houses. The first connection was achieved with Software Solutions Partners (SSP), followed closely by connection with Misys. This is the first development of its kind following the recent agreement to integrate imarket with broker software houses.
Connectivity via imarket will provide seamless and secure integration between insurers and the software houses for the speedy and efficient delivery of products and services to brokers. Product testing begins in early 2005, with an aim to have the first integrated product available by end of March.
'We are delighted that we have been able to prove connectivity with both SSP and Misys. This is a major step forward in the realisation of imarket as the industry portal, bringing brokers the benefit of faster, more efficient trading,' explains Ken Hutchinson, Groupamas e-commerce Manager.
Richard Crocker, Head of e-Business at Software Solutions Partners commented: 'We have been working extremely hard on the project to integrate our software with the imarket portal and we are therefore delighted to be the first software house to establish connectivity with Groupama. We see the imarket integration project as a key initiative to drive commercial lines electronic trading forward and whilst there is still a lot of work to do, establishing connectivity with the first insurer is a significant milestone in the project delivery.'
