TheMoodieReport.com: "Alpha Retail has launched two Scottish Presence stores at Glasgow Prestwick Airport the first stand-alone units for the Scottish destination merchandise brand.

The new landside store was officially opened to the sound of bagpipes on 28 November, adding to the airside store, which opened earlier that month.

The outlets provide an extensive range of Scottish gifts and memorabilia. Both are intended to appeal to tourists visiting the country and patriotic Scots alike.

Scottish Presence product lines include knitwear, jewellery, pottery, candlesticks and cushions many of which are hand-crafted in Scotland. The assortment also includes postcards, preserves, shortbread, traditional and contemporary souvenirs, soft toys, T-shirts, china and confectionery.

The range of own-label Scottish Presence merchandise had previously only been available in the Scottish Presence concessions at the World News & BOOKSplus stores in Edinburgh and Aberdeen Airports respectively. The new stores at Prestwick are the first stand-alone units for the Scottish Presence brand.

Alpha Retail Marketing Manager Ben Deller said: This new store opening marks the growing success of our trio of British souvenir outlets. Glorious Britain and its two sister chains, Scottish Presence and Taste of Ulster (found at Belfast City and Belfast International airports) have gone from strength to strength over the past year and were delighted to be opening another landmark store. "
