Gate Gourmet Information Overview

Gate Gourmet Information Overview: "Situation Overview -- Gate Gourmet London (Heathrow)
This website is designed to provide accurate information on the events currently taking place at Gate Gourmet London (Heathrow).
While there has been rhetoric and repeated inaccuracies surrounding the situation, this does not change what actually occurred.
The facts are that hundreds of former Gate Gourmet workers took the law into their own hands and on August 10th staged unauthorised, illegal industrial action. The TGWU was fully aware of this action and did nothing to stop it. A radical group of workers at the centre of this event has a history of similar illegal action, taking such measures seven times in the past three years.
Gate Gourmet's Position
Gate Gourmet London's number one priority is to ensure that the local company remains viable and that 1,400 jobs at Heathrow are protected

Gate Gourmet will continue to negotiate in good faith with the union in the hope of reaching a fair and reasonable agreement

Gate Gourmet cannot even consider requests by dismissed workers for re-engagement unless all dismissed workers sign compromise agreements

Gate Gourmet will not, under any circumstances, re-engage the former employees who instigated the illegal job action on 10th August

Gate Gourmet has offered ex-employees who are not re-engaged or employees who are leaving generous terms of compensation (if a compromise agreement is signed in the case of the ex-employees)
Gate Gourmet is determined to do everything it can to find a solution through negotiation that will ensure the viability of the Heathrow business and protect the jobs and pensions of the 1,400 loyal and hard-working employees. The company is committed to working with the union to find a fair and reasonable solution for the dismissed staff.
